Bord Gais

New offices for Bord Gais Networks Control Centre

The RIAI, Irish Association of Architects, has announced a competition to design new offices for the Bord Gais Networks. The roof of the building proposed by MCA, designed as a true fifth facade, is characterized by a multitude of chimneys joined in a honeycomb shape whose undulating surface takes up the motif of the surrounding hillside. The south-west facade is rendered transparent through the use of large windows. Inside, courts and indoor gardens punctuate the space and help to distinguish semi-public spaces.
