Rozzano

University Campus

The design intent is to create a space for study and research closely connected to the hospital in Rozzano, which preserves the livability and ambience of traditional courtyard buildings, typical of the area. The new building is constructed around an interior depressed below the street level which is to form a new tree-lined piazza, overlooked by two symmetrical blocks of classrooms and laboratories. The roof, treated as an extensive and sensitive skin, takes on diverse environmental characteristics and is called to fill the energy needs and climate of the building.
