Dongtan EcoCity

Eco City of Shanghai

Commissioned by ARUP, the project will be built on an area of 45,000 square meters in a core area of the new city to be built on the island of Chongming, near Shanghai. It will comprise the Dongtan School of Economics, the Global Hub for the Sustainable Forum and the Institute of Environmental Research and Development and Tech. The first extends over an area of 5,000 square meters, 1,500 of which are intended for classrooms; the second occupies 15,000 square meters with an auditorium for 2,500 people, the third, finally, on an area of 25,000 square meters, allocates 6,000 square meters to the research center and another other 6,000 to laboratories and lecture halls.
