New Headquarters of the National Institute of Statistics

Winner of first prize in an international competition held by ISTAT, the project adopts the typology of the courtyard building, interpreted as a bioclimatic grotto, allowing light and air to dematerialize the structure, revealing reflecting pools, natural slopes and crossing areas: a constant dialogue between solids and voids. Interior patios of various sizes bring light and air to the large central atrium and uniformly to all floors and offices. The large grotto, which runs through the project, acts as a high performance bio-climatic machine.
