With the theme of “inheritance, innovation, and vitality“, the 2019 (the 4th session) Beijing lnternational Urban Design Forum has invited a number of renowned experts and scholars at home and abroad to attend the meeting, in hope of facilitating the future development of urban design and enabling active and in-depth thinking on urban design theories.
The main task facing China’s contemporary urban design has shifted to the adjustment and improvement of existing spatial structures of cities and the refined regeneration and design of built environment.
The inheritance-oriented innovative exploration of urban design methods and technologies that cater to the needs of urban development in contemporary China has become a key method in improving and invigorating urban life, satisfying the growing needs of the Chinese people for a better life, and realizing people’s sense of happiness in urban life. In this context, under the unified layout of the Centrai Urban Work Conference and guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, a variety of urban design research and practices have been carried out in areas across China by suiting to locai conditions and a large number of national key urban design projects have made remarkable achievements.
On November 16, 2019 Architect Mario Cucinella will participate in the Opening Ceremony and will be one of the speakers of the morning meetings.
