Since 1985, the City of Buenos Aires has hosted one of the most outstanding celebrations of international architectural culture. The International Biennial of Architecture of Buenos Aires is one of the most important events in the region, pioneer of the Latin American Biennials and recognized within the most relevant trilogy, along with that of Venice and Sao Paulo. Within this framework, Buenos Aires becomes a space for interwoven cultural dialogues, conferences by world-renowned architects and exhibitions that place architecture in the foreground of conversation.

Throughout its 32 years, the Biennial counted with the presence of notable participants, such as nine of the Pritzker Prizes: Richard Meier, Hans Hollein, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Jean Nouvel, Richard Rogers, Norman Foster, Toyoo Ito, Zaha Hadid and Alejandro Aravena.

The most outstanding architects from the five continents were also part of it: Bjarke Ingels, Gae Aulenti, Bruno Zevi, Pierre Vago, Kai-Uwe Bergmann, Jan Gehl, Peter Stutchbury, Clara de Solá-Morales, Oscar Gonzalez Moix and César Pelli.

The Usina del Arte, Cultural Space and Headquarters of the Undersecretary of Cultural Management, in charge of Viviana Cantoni and the Ministry of Culture of the City, officiated again as headquarters for this meeting. In this way, it seeks to expand, achieving more exhibition space, more participants, more attendees. From there, it will also extend its program throughout the city, taking architecture as a participatory cultural event of interest to all society.
