SOS – School of Sustainability launches the new Master in Sustainable Design!

The goal of the Foundation Course “Design for Circular Economy” is to understand the principles, strategies and analytic techniques of circular design applied to products and systems addressing the needs of the individuals and the communities.

The course goal is to apply an understanding of the principles, strategies and analytic techniques of circular design to real products and systems addressing the needs of the individuals and the communities at multiple levels. A key objective is to embed evidence-based circular design thinking within the design process. Students have the opportunity to apply this approach to the critical evaluation of case study projects and of their own proposals.

The final design exercise contributes to the enhancement of current projects developed by Industrial and/or institutional partners of SOS. In the project phase, the design development is based on circular economy targets. In addition, a series of thematic workshops and seminars are organised to address specific project objectives, including the research of materials, components and processes able to contribute to the achievement the highest social, environmental and economical benefits, and to generate new opportunities for reuse, disassembly, recycle or re-manufacturing. Thematic workshops and seminars will be selected according to project objectives.
