Building for the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism
The project combines a new environmental strategy with motifs of traditional Middle Eastern art and architecture. The building has deep floor plates to maximize the occupancy. Each floor is perforated by a series of gardens and towers that bring natural light and fresh air into the building. A solid façade is meets the road, protecting a hidden garden, a sort of oasis providing an ideal natural microclimate for those working inside. In order to respond to climactic needs, the building provides for a combination of active and passive systems integrated to minimize energy consumption.
