Municipality of city of Piacenza

The project was created in response to a competition for project financing aimed at consolidation and relocation of the main functional and administrative services of the city of Piacenza, Italy.

Relocation to the headquarters of the former Unicem Cement company – slated for redevelopment through a new master plan – allowed the development of the project as a strong built symbol, a genuine “urban place”, easily accessible and located at the center of gravity, so as to constitute a “hinge” between the historic city and the contemporary city. The main roads, particularly the long viale dei tigli, take on the function of linking the unified seat to the territory.
